Termalate SC

All applications must be carried out in accordance with SABS Code of Practice 0124:1995 (as amended). Applications must be made using equipment specifically designed for termite control, which is in good working order and correctly calibrated to deliver the required coverage for each application method.

Pre-Construction Preventive Application
Treatment of Existing Colonies

All active termite colonies located within 50 metres of the structure’s perimeter (or within the property boundary, whichever is shorter) should be treated with Termalate SC prior to construction. Treating surrounding nests assists in preventing termite attack on structures erected on the site.

Site Preparation

• All cellulose-containing materials (e.g. wood, timber, paper, cardboard) that may serve as a food source for termites must be removed before treatment
• No structures (floors, slabs, paving, etc.) should be constructed over potential food sources
• Do not apply Termalate SC to excessively wet soil
• If more than 15 mm of rain falls within 24 hours of application, the treatment should be repeated unless the treated soil was adequately protected
• The treated soil surface must not be disturbed after application, as disruption may compromise the treated barrier and allow termite entry

Post-Construction Remedial Application
For remedial treatments, it is critical that Termalate SC is applied in such a way that a continuous treated soil barrier is established beneath and around the structure.

The most common cause of treatment failure is incomplete or uneven distribution, resulting in untreated gaps that termites can exploit to gain access to the structure. This is particularly important beneath solid floors, where compacted soil can make uniform distribution more difficult.
